He was predeceased by: his parents, William G. Thornton Jr. and Alice Palmer Thornton; his brother Rocky Thornton; and his mother-in-law Freida Dodd Jones. He is survived by: his wife Pam Jones Thornton; his sister Kathy Johnson; and his nephews, Donald Johnson Jr., Derek Johnson, Clay Jones and Justin Jones.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Morrison Funeral Home - Florence (12081 State Hwy 20, Florence, AL 35633). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
