He was predeceased by: his children, Michael and Teresa Carter Rosario; his parents, Otis L Lucille and Thelma Lucille; his aunt Elsie Carter; his nephew Stephen "Chipper"; his uncle Virgil; his aunt Luverne; his cousin Karen; his brother Robert L Carter; his cousin Linda; his brother-in-law Micheal Patterson; his stepson Steven; his sister Sandra (Roland Sasseville); his siblings' children, Angel Womble, Nikki Sasseville, Shane Sharron, Mark Fuller and Wayne McMahon; his niece Sharon Corn McMahon; his sister-in-law Betty (family: Jim, Jr., Christy Thomas Williams, Misty Carmichael); his nephew Sam Tyler; Terry McMahon, Kiley, Bill Howard (Patty), Janice McMahon, Mandy McMahon, Sheila Tyler, Pat Loreno, Kim Tyler and Tommy Tyler.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara R. Patterson Carter; his grandchildren, Christian Michael, Jesse Scott Lee Rosario, Andrew Lamar Murphree and Katherine Lindsey Murphree; and his in-laws, Joy Lynn Barnes and Shannon Holloway Murphree Carter.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM. A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM and on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM.
