It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sammy Paul Quillen (Florence, Alabama), born in Cloverdale, Alabama, who passed away on September 5, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Nannie Edna Burns Quillen; his siblings, Thomas Allen Quillen of Florence, Norma Jean Quillen Bowles of Florence, Jeanette Quillen (Jan) of Florence, Charles Arthur Quillen of Florence and Jimmy Wayne Quillen of Florence; and his brothers-in-law, William Frank Sharp of Florence, Henry D. Bowles of Florence and Paul Turner Blackburn of Florence.
He is survived by: his son David Lee Quillen; his granddaughter Madison Baylee Quillen; his great grandchild Madison McKinley Quillen of Florence, Alabama.; his siblings, Jewel Ione Quillen Sharp, Virginia Quillen Blackburn, Edmond Lee Quillen of Georgetown, TX, Nancy Joyce Quillen Gill, Larry Dean Quillen (King) of Huntsville, AL and Rejetta Ruth Quillen Balentine of Birmingham, AL.; and his sister-in-law Sue Green Quillen. He is also survived by 19 nieces and nephews.
