He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Phillips and Lorraine Phillips. He is survived by: his wife Romie Phillips; his children, Valeka Garner (John) and Chad Phillips (Carol); his grandchildren, Anessa Tipton, Karissa Garner, Nathaniel Garner, Sydni Phillips and Karsyn Phillips; Jennifer Brown. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.

The family has asked to please not send flowers but instead make donations to the Cornerstone Church of Christ Brazil Missions Fund.
