He was predeceased by: his parents, James Larry Nichols and Lela Morris Nichols; and his siblings, William, Clayborn, James, Kenneth, Irene and Birdie Lee.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Nichols, Jr. (Terri), Steve Nichols (Tina), Mark Nichols (Lisa), Donna Martin and Lisa Morris; his grandchildren, Fallon (Matt), Stevie (Chase), Rick, Ladonna (Tommy), Ryan (Meridith), Serrah (J. P.), Christy (Tyler) and Jami (Adam); his siblings, Methel Shobe, Margie Pittman (Johnny) and Don Nichols (Elouise); and his grandsons, Tom Nichols III, Matthew Holland, Ricky Cochran, Tommy Pruitt, Chase Davis and Tyler Crosswhite. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
