He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Stanfield; his parents, Austin Stanfield and Byron Stanfield; and his siblings, Jimmy Ray Stanfield, Nell Morgan and Carolyn Odell.

He is survived by: his son Gerald Stanfield (Leigh) of Florence; his brothers, Jack Stanfield of Huntsville and Terry Stanfield (Tammy) of Florence; his siblings-in-law, Shelia Blackstock (Johnny) of Muscle Shoals and Paul Pounders (Pat) of Florence; and his friend Sharon Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and by his dear.
