He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Sue Dawson; his brothers, William Cole and Franklin Dee Dawson; his children, Jerry Willard Dawson (Mary) and Gloria Darlene Williams (Terry); his grandsons, Christopher Dewayne Dawson, Michael Lee McCurry II, Bryan Mitchell Glasscock and Aaron Brown; and his great grandchild Bailey Mitchell Glasscock.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Sue Dawson, Annette Laster (Winford), Deloris Bierschank (Grant), Susan Crouch (Jeff) and Sharon Dawson; and his grandchildren, Mary Garrison (Mark), Rose Wilkinson (Terrell), Quentin Glasscock (Jamie), James Dawson (Amy), Christy Dawson, Johnathon Dawson, William Dawson, Katie Dawson, Eden Bucholtz (Adam), Mason Kelsey (Taylor), Kirstin Preston and Wade Preston (Brianna). He is also survived by great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Morrison Funeral Home - Florence (12081 State Hwy 20, Florence, AL 35633). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mary's. Dawson Cemetery.
