We are sad to announce that, on March 4, 2026, at the age of 81, Sandra Haas Hixon of Fort Payne, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Haas and Ruby Chitwood Haas; her husband Gilbert Hixon; her sister Frances; and her brother-in-law Coy Evers.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carri Turner, Holly Hixon (Brad Roberts) and Hayden Simmons (Kevin); her grandchildren, Sydney Hixon Palmer (Jaron), Jacee Turner, Jayden Blackwell, Jack Riley Blackwell, Corian Simmons, Cadie Simmons and Micah Simmons; her sister Tammi Miller (Randy); her daughter LeAnn Bain; her niece Darlene Cowart; her nephew Michael Evers; and her close friend Bougie.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Sandra and Gilbert's beloved rescue pup Bougie, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to help with future veterinarian needs for pups like Bougie (checks in care of Holly Hixon, PO Box 681335, Fort Payne, AL 35968, or cash donations can be dropped off at the funeral service).
