With sadness, we share the passing of Vesta Elrod Baker (Fort Payne, Alabama). Vesta, born on February 8, 1945, passed away on October 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Wayne Baker; her parents, Vester Elrod and Vern Elrod; and her sisters, Imogene Elrod Moncus and Glenda Hunter.
She is survived by: her daughters, Carole Brooks and Joanna Killian (Lane); her grandchildren, DeAnn Cobble (Hank), Derek Killian (Savannah) and Kyanna Killian; her great grandchildren, Henlee Ann Cobble and Ellisyn Killian; her pet Millie Baker; her siblings, Pat Wright and Butch Elrod (Beverly); and her siblings-in-law, Jerald, Rita Baker, Jerry, Ruby Baker and Mag Helton. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home (3801 Gault Ave N, Fort Payne, AL 35967). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family is accepting flowers or donations can be made to First Methodist Church.
