Susan Gilmore Obituary

Though Susan may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Susan touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Alford Sr. and Barbara Alford; and her brothers, Ronald Alford and Lloyd Alford Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Thomas Gilmore (Valerie) and Jamey Rothe (Stephanie); and her brother Donald Alford (Barbie). She is also survived by extended family and dear friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ridout's Gardendale Chapel (2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
