He was predeceased by: his parents, Loice Avant and Vera Spivey Avant; his sister Cindy Reeves; and his granddaughter Brittany Avant. He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Watkins Avant; his children, Dana Wakefield (Gary), Linda House, Scott Avant (Tracy) and Joseph Avant (Leslie); his brothers, Rodney Avant (Sandra) and Mike Avant (Cathie); his grandchildren, Danielle Avant, Samantha Avant, Gladys Robinson, Seth Wakefield, Gage, Emilee Wakefield, Jacob, Kadee Hays and Kyle House; and his great grandchildren, Ty Corley, Sigfried Wakefield, Ben Hays, Emma Hays, Hannah Hays, Kallen House and William House.
