She was predeceased by: her husband Odis Gillispie; her siblings, Charles Wilks, Buck Wilks, Villa O'Shields, Linda Wilks and Defia Wilks; and her parents, John Wilks and Odessa Wilks.
She is survived by: her son David Freeman; her siblings, Jerry "Bo" Wilks (Wanda), Genila Owens (Buddy), Rosie Wells and Geneva Childers; and her grandchildren, Melanie Sarratt (Jason), Michelle Decker (Tim), Jon Dukes (Misty), Waylon Freman (Jada) and Josh Dukes (Jennifer). She is also survived by 9 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Kirk Memorial Gardens (114 Kirk Rd SW, Rainsville, AL 35986).
