He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Andrew Walden and Viola Walden; his son-in-law Richard Kendrick; Yvonne Gunter Walden. He is survived by: his daughter Dr. Olivia W. Kendrick; his granddaughters, Stephanie Moomau (Tommy) and Amanda Payne (John); and his great grandchildren, Allida "Ada" Leigh and Eleanor "Ellie" Beckner Moomau. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Rainbow City First Methodist Church (3208 Rainbow Dr, Rainbow City, AL 35906). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
