He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Akins and Mary Akins; and his brother Craig Akins. He is survived by: his wife Linda Walley; his children, Amanda Fant (Scott), Lori Smith (Zane), Matt Akins (Leslie) and Katie Marie Montgomery (Kevin); his grandchildren, Zander Smith, Victoria Fant, Anna Fant, Shepherd Smith, Nate Fant, Rowan Smith and Finley Montgomery; and his siblings, Bruce Akins and Donna Hagedorn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
