It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evangelist Emma Childs of Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, David Williams, Sr. and Ruby Frances Glass; her siblings, Lynda Sue Williams, Eric Williams, Leroy Williams, David Williams, Jr., Delania Cunningham and Angela Crumpler; her brothers-in-law, Ellis Cunningham and Jerry Washington; and her nephew Yahshay Yahshar'al.
She is survived by: her husband Britton Childs III; her children, Patricia Parker (James), Brittania Childs and Britton Childs IV; her grandchildren, Jamee Parker, Jonathan Parker, Xandria Brigham and Britton Childs V; her sisters, Vera "Vicky" Washington, Carrie Stubbs (Robert), Della Guerrero (Eric) and Ocie Hope; her nieces and nephews, David Williams (Tresea), Patrick Washington (Antina), Claude Reeves, Stephen Cunningham (Mary), Alicia Crumpler and Erica Stubbs; her cousin Eula Wade; her siblings-in-law, Justine Williams, Roberta Harville, Claudia Ferguson (Robert), Gloria Knight, Gwendolyn Rudolph, Carolyn Childs, Willie Childs, Herbert Childs (Janie) and Sanford Childs; her children, Jessie Melton, Brandon Smith and Morgan Tierra Childs; and her close friends, Noressa Thomas, Cheryl Williams, Mary Scissum and Evelyn Robinson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and extended relatives.
