He was predeceased by : his parents, James Billy Nichols (Pete) and Helen Whitten Nichols. He is survived by : his sons, Daniel Nichols and Kyle Jackson; his grandsons, Parker and TJ; and his siblings, Don, Dan and Susan.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Collier Butler Funeral Home (824 Rainbow Dr, Gadsden, AL 35901). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
