With sadness, we share the passing of Harold Eugene Nelson in Gadsden, Alabama. Harold, born on May 1, 1947, passed away on September 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert G. Nelson and Alice Ellaween Nelson; and his daughter Candace Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Clay Nelson and Julie Nelson Pruett Dean (Michael); his grandchildren, Rebecca Nelson, Lauren Nelson, Gavin Nelson, Preston Pruett, Nigel and Londun Dean; his partner's children, Leah (Wesley) and Lindsey (Reece); his siblings, Gary Nelson (Julia) and Linda Thompson; Samford, Asher and Reagan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Collier-Butler Funeral Home (824 Rainbow Dr, Gadsden, AL 35901). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Collier-Butler Funeral Service Chapel (824 Rainbow Dr, Gadsden, AL 35901).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
