It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Joan Virginia Ryan of Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away at the age of 86, on October 7, 2021. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles B. Ryan Jr. and Virginia Ryan; her aunt Hazel Smith; and her siblings, Charles B. "Chip" Ryan III and Anne R. Byers (Joe).

She is survived by: her niece Cynthia Snead (Stephen); her great-nephew Fox Snead; and her cousins, Margaret Mitchell O'Donnell (Norman), Caroline Neller (Tim), John Patterson (Brenda), Kaye Watson (Hank), Lucy Frost (Randy) and David O'Shields. She is also survived by cousins and extended family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church, Gadsden.
