It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of JoAnn Mabrey Waits of Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on May 4, 2022, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Louise and Juston Mabrey; her husband Jerry Milton Waits; her daughter Dawn (Luanne); her brother Harold Mabrey (Sonny Boy); and her grandson David Maxwell Cochran (Max).

She is survived by: her children, Mark Waits (Liz) and Kelly Cochran (David); her brothers, Jerry Don Mabrey and Larry Mabrey (Judy); her sisters-in-law, Sarah Mabrey, Mary Tom Hale and Florence Dial; her grandchildren, Callie Mills Cochran, Marcus Grant Waits and Blaine Reese Russell; her friend Barbara Frazier; and her grandsons, Grant, Clay, Juston Mabrey, Matt Mabrey, Ethan Embry and Chuck Burns. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
