He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Wetzel and Patricia Denson Hamilton; his brother Scott Wetzel; and his grandparents, Ed and Mary Denson.
He is survived by: his wife Shyrie Wetzel; his children, Amanda Travis (Chris), Anastasia Schwenk (Freddy) and Jordan Wetzel (Kenny Gray); his siblings, Matthew Wetzel and Mary Maddox (Mike); his grandchildren, Jaxson Whitten (Maddie Lanette), Loren McCarley, Avery Schwenk and Elliott Schwenk; his nieces, Morgan Marbut (Josh) and Mackenzie Simpson (Trent); and his close friends, Tim Shelton, Gene Proctor, Lea and Anthony Henson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Collier-Butler Funeral Home (824 Rainbow Dr, Gadsden, AL 35901). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Collier-Butler Funeral Home Chapel (824 Rainbow Dr, Gadsden, AL 35901).
