It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Deerman of Gadsden, Alabama, born in Jefferson, Alabama, who passed away on November 19, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She is survived by: her husband Giles Roy Compton; her sons, Roger and Scott Compton; her sister-in-law Terri Presley Compton; her daughters-in-law, Tamessa Wood Compton, Becky Rains Compton and Sara Compton; her grandsons, Zachary Compton, Justin Compton, Cameron Compton, Kevin Compton, Alex Compton, Seth Compton and Noah Compton; Dre Compton. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
