We are sad to announce that on August 3, 2021, at the age of 85, Melvin Eugene Smith (Gadsden, Alabama) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his siblings, Donald Smith, Frank Smith, Mary Owens, Norma Parker (Shug) and Renelda Loring; and his parents, Lee William Smith and Evie Lewis Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Karen Waites (Keith), Jeff Smith and Tim Smith (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Kristi Foster, Gage Smith, Kayla Thacker, Tony Foster, Cody Foster, Rachel Smith and Sara Smith; and his siblings, Margie Lyons and Tommy Smith. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
