Rodney Brian Gay Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodney Brian Gay of Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on December 9, 2021, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Rodney, a veteran of the Persian Gulf War was born May 15, 1958 and was a life long residence of Etowah County. He served his family and country proudly through the U.S Army and the National Guards. His time served was during Operation Desert Storm.
Rodney was a kind and gentle man. He had many hobbies and talents to include woodworking and drawing. He loved nature and being out in the woods. He also enjoyed being his family’s weather predictor. Rodney prided himself and others by letting them know he was a die hard Alabama football fan (Roll Tide!) He enjoyed attending all of his children’s ballgames when they were little. He was loved and cherished by many people.
Rodney was preceded in death by his mother Ruby Hill Gay; his sisters, Glenda Gay Huff, Trena Gay Wilkes and Cynthia Gay Freeman. He is survived by his children, Keri Gay Ballard (Blake), Aimee Darlene Gay and Christopher Brian Gay (Brittany); his grandchildren, Scarlett Rayne Ballard, Vander Reed Ballard, Memphis Bree Hardin and Alexander Pierce Gay; his closest friend Theressa Gay Sims (David) and many more close family and friends. A special thank you to Dr. Shannon and his nurse Rachel.
In lieu of flowers the family asks plants be sent instead or a donation to the Birmingham VA Medical Center.
