We announce the death of Sandra Odessa Adkins in Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on July 20, 2026, at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her husband Dennis Lee Adkins; her children, Denicelyn Donahue and Dennis Lee Adkins Jr.; and her parents, Samuel Thompson and Ivy Thompson.

She is survived by: her children, Jane Adkins Purvis (Toby), Richard Adkins (Lori) and Gary Adkins (Debbie); and her grandchildren, Melissa Donahue, Jennifer Donahue, Nancy Lorance, Lauren Adkins, Brandon Adkins, Emily Adkins, David Adkins, Denetra Myers, Samuel Purvis, Kenneth Purvis, Toby Purvis, Dustin Purvis, Zack Adkins and Chris Adkins. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
