He was predeceased by: his wife Shelby "Jean" Scott; his parents, W. T. Scott and Avis Swafford; and his siblings, Freddie Scott, Wallace Scott and Brenda Owens.
He is survived by: his daughters, Deana Smith and Natasha Scott (Amanda); his brother Larry Scott (Amelia); Carolyn and Leon Myers. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
