With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Daniel Baker of Gallion, Alabama, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Spencer Baker and Modean Davis Baker; his wife Laura Jane White Baker; and his siblings, Peggy Baker Stephens, Dorothy "Dot" Baker Ayres and Randolph "Randy" Baker.
He is survived by: his son Jeffrey "Jeff" Baker (Bethany); his grandchildren, Lindsay Baker Riggs (Drake), Stephen Baker (Amber), Rebekah Baker, Kenya Baker and Raymond Baker; his great grandchild Paisleigh Riggs; his siblings, W. S. "Bill" Baker (Janelle), Michael "Mike" Baker (Nikki), Betty Baker Hatter (Paul), Sue Baker Allen and Beverly Baker Meadors (Dwight); and his sister-in-law Jody Baker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fairhaven Baptist Church (1504 Cardinal St, Demopolis, AL 36732). A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the Gideons.
