She was predeceased by: her husband Homer C. Watkins; her parents, Edward Barber and Alice Barber; and her siblings, Edith Addison (Ed), Dewey Barber (Gail) and Gerald Barber.

She is survived by: her son Jim Barber; her granddaughter Heather Holtbrooks; her brother Glenn Barber (Billie); her sister-in-law Gail Barber; and her great grandchildren, Zach Holtbrooks and Hannah Holtbrooks.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Alene's memory may be made to Hope Hospice.
