We are sad to announce that on March 9, 2022, at the age of 90, Charles Leland Clendening of Gardendale, Alabama, born in Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Clendening and Oscar Clendening; his sister Dorothy Clendening Greene; and his wife Peggy Smith Clendening. He is survived by: his nieces, Pam Greene and Sandy Dewald (Dave); his great-nephew Sam Dewald of Tennessee; his cousins, Billy Hunnicutt, Larry Clendening and Jeff Goad of Tennessee; his aunt Connie "Bug" Farmer of California; and his close friends, Tony Cousins, Tracy Wilson, Phillip, Mary Blaney, James Love and Rex Keeling.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gardendale Senior Center, 861 Main Street, Gardendale, Al, 35071.
