He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward L. Barber and Alice Treadwell Barber; and his siblings, Gerald Barber and Edith Barber Addison. He is survived by: his wife Gail Wiggins Barber; his children, Teresa Barber Thomas (Rodney), Vicki Barber Weaver and Scott Barber; and his siblings, Alene Barber Watkins and Glenn Barber. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hope Hospice, Gardendale, AL.
