He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Burrel Sandlin and Katie Bohannon Sandlin; and his brother Craig Lynn Sandlin. He is also survived by numerous cousins on both sides of his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gardendale Baptist Tabernacle to maintain their church busses.
