He was predeceased by: his parents, David Earl Guthrie and Mary Louise Pharris Guthrie; his grandparents, William Jefferson Guthrie, Viola Mae Collins Guthrie, Hal Pharris and Fannie Mae Geeters Pharris; his father-in-law Ray Whisonant; and his brother-in-law Johnny Whisonant.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Whisonant Guthrie; his children, James Ryan (Tabitha), Kevin Douglas and Jessica Rhea; his granddaughter Tamryn Darlene; his siblings, David Guthrie (Kelly), Joe Guthrie (Susan) and Lisa Simpson (Taylor); his mother-in-law Doris Whisonant; his sister-in-law Dena Tumlin (Ray); and his friend Jerry Cannon. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and close friends.
