We announce the death of James E. Pugh (Gardendale, Alabama), who passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his daughter Elizabeth Gay Pugh; and his siblings, John Thomas Pugh, Bobbye Reid and June Reid. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Mitchell Pugh; his children, Sallie Barham (Brian), James Pugh (Connie) and Kimberly Ortiz (Luis); and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Wilson (Caleb), Alaina Colson (John), Hayley Barham (Houston), Marc Pugh (Anna Kathryn), Emily Burns (Jacob), Adrianna Denney (Ryan), Jeff Reno (Samantha) and Jonathan Ortiz (Leslie). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
