He was predeceased by : his parents, Ronald Scott Awtry, Sr. and Rosalee Howard Awtry; and his brother Kenneth N. Awtry. He is survived by : his wife Karen Lynn Waid Awtry; his son Ronald Scott "Trey" Awtry, III; his daughter-in-law Heather; his daughter Whitney Awtry Pichelmayer; his son-in-law Greg; and his grandchildren, Noah, Isaac and Savannah. He is also survived by relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ridout's Gardendale Chapel (2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
