He was predeceased by: his wife Audrey Evans Cowley; his parents, William Henry Cowley and Elva Brown Cowley; and his sister Marianna Cowley Tate. He is survived by: his children, Caroland Karen and Dr. Carol E. Cowley; his daughter-in-law Susan Walker of Bessemer, AL; his daughter Karen Bergquist; his son-in-law John of Vestavia Hills, AL; his grandchildren, Brittany Mathis of Homewood, AL, Eric Bergquist (Megan) of Vestavia Hills, AL, Mira Walker of Ann Arbor, MI and Laura Nell Walker of Birmingham, AL; his great grandchildren, Grant Bergquist and Molly Bergquist of Vestavia Hills; and his nephews, Bill Tate of Chattanooga, TN, Jeff Tate of Franklin, NC and David Tate of Cochranville. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
