He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Ellenburg and Mattie Pearl White Ellenburg; and his siblings, Harold Gene Ellenburg and Sue Miller. He is survived by: his children, Lynette Leiser (Jeff) of Dothan, AL, Amanda Snell (Jerry) of Enterprise, AL, Tonya Churchwell (Ernie) of Samson, AL and Michael Wayne Ellenburg (Danielle) of Samson, AL; and his siblings, E. J. Ellenburg of Enterprise, AL, Steve Ellenburg (Cheryl) of Enterprise, AL, Brenda McCall of Chancellor, AL and Patricia Yates (Rex) of Geneva, AL. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 23rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home Chapel (2744 W Magnolia Ave, Samson, AL 36477). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family will receive flowers, or memorial contributions may be to St. Jude's Research Hospital in Wayne's memory.
