He was predeceased by: his former wife Annie Ruth Carney Coody; his son Bo Coody; his grandchildren, Damion Coody and Kristen Sellers; his parents, William Nilon Coody and Ola Velma Donald Coody; and his siblings, Newton Coody, Bud Coody, James Coody, Norman Coody, Willie Maude Turner, Martha Diamond, Vernell Jenkins and Margaret Moore.
He is survived by: his wife Teresa Wallace Coody; and his children, Chris Coody (Donna), Roger Coody, Lester Coody, Billy Coody (Teresa), Rene Andrews and Reta Coody. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Phillips Funeral Home (116 Main St, Gilbertown, AL 36908). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
