He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Lewis, Laverne Lowe and Roy Tate; and his great-aunt Bessie Will Lowe. He is survived by : his wife Sammye McGee Tate; his children, Bailey Tate Wheat (Hunter), Sonnye Marie Tate and Adam Preston Tate (Teressa); his grandchildren, Carter, Asher, Caspian, Beau and Preston; his parents, Billy Tate and Janice Tate; his grandmother Mary Koon; his uncle Robert Tate; and his aunts, Fran Blizzard, Julia Parham (Ricky) and Libby Lowe.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Gordo Masonic Lodge #564.
