He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Watkins and Virgie Harkins Watkins; his son Gary Watkins, Jr.; and his brothers, Joe Max and Raymond Watkins.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Watkins (Camille), Ashley Homan (Lance) and Rikita Beams (Robert); and his grandchildren, Kyle, Bradley, Natalie, Justin, Tyler, Maddox, Camden, Tenley and Kyson. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
