He was predeceased by: his parents, Dan Pate and Hattie Sims Pate; his daughter Jodi Danae Pate; and his sisters, Peggy Payne, Bernice Turman, Nola Mae Foster, Nona Faye Raye and Annie Lois Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Pate of Gordo; his children, Jonathan Pate (Kelly) of Gordo and Brittany Campbell (Michael) of Gordo; his grandsons, Kyson Pate, Collin Pate and Cooper Campbell; and his sisters, Marion Burkhalter of Gordo and Virginia Junkin of Gordo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
