He is survived by : his wife Sylvia "Sibbie" Pate; his sister June P. Elmore; his siblings-in-law, Linda McDowell Hill (William Hill) and Larry McDowell (Barbara); his nieces and nephews, Tony Elmore (Laura Lee), Oscar Pate (Trina), Tina Fike (Michael), Michael McDowell (Heather), Greg McDowell, John McDowell (Rachelle), Vicki Broder (O'Neal), Manda Humber (Terry) and Rebecca Goldsmith (Jim); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Mira, Max, Lucy, Savanah, Dion, Justin, Kori, Hilary, John Caleb, Landon, Gracie, Jacob, Jason, Matthew, Meredith, Melissa, Michael, Ben and Brian; his caregiver Joann Miller; and also, Will Jackson, Hadley and Chandler.
