He was predeceased by: his wife Lillie Griffin; his parents, James Griffin and Elsie Griffin; and his brother Dewitte Griffin. He is survived by: his children, Lamar Harris (Cheryl), Richie Harris (Sherry) and Anita McCarrell (Tom); his grandchildren, Maegan Bower (Justin), Hannah Griggs (Brandon), Caroline Harris, Dreighton Le (Phong) and Melody Harris; his great grandchildren, Drake Bower, Maeve Bower and Asher Griggs; his sister-in-law Anita Griffin; and his nieces and nephews, Anissa Ratulowski (Joe), Courtney Durden, Joey Ratulowski and Carter Ratulowski.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project or Disabled American Veterans.
