He is survived by: his wife Jeanette; his children, Adrian Thompson (Billy), Rebecca Taylor (Jay) and Wes Bates (Rebekah); his grandchildren, Ellie Taylor, Nathan Bates, Mallie Taylor, Nora Bates and Noah Thompson; and his brother Larry Bates. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
