It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Wayne Rice of Grant, Alabama, who passed away on July 8, 2025, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Carl Farley. He is survived by: his wife Misty Rice; his children, Leda Rice, Addison Rice, Bubba Rice and Cameron Rice; his stepchildren, Seth Esslinger, Hayes Esslinger, Cole Lemley and Aubrey Lemley; his mother Peggy Sledge; and his siblings, Tony Rice (Judy), Sheila Farley and Vicky Hill (David).
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the New Hope Funeral Home (2500 Oak Grove Rd, New Hope, AL 35760). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel (2500 Oak Grove Rd, New Hope, AL 35760). A burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 3:30 PM at the Green Valley Cemetery (2485 Old Big Cove Rd, Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763).
