He was predeceased by: his parents, Vance M. Scott and Martha Elynor Scott of Washington; and his sister Sandra Suzanne Scott Rabbitt of Cedar Hill, Texas.. He is survived by: his wife Rhoda Katharine Gill Scott; his brother Steven Thomas Scott; his son Douglas Vance Scott; his daughter-in-law Daria Stimson Scott; his son David Gill Scott (Heather Cook Scott); his grandchildren, Katharine Renee Lopez (John), Theresa Ann Scott, Ashton Elizabeth McLendon (Kirk), Maire Suzanne Scott, Jackson Gill Scott, Harrison Stephen Scott and Madelyn Elizabeth Scott; and his great grandchild Phillip Kirkland McLendon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dunklin Funeral Home (812 W Commerce St, Greenville, AL 36037). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at the Magnolia Cemetery (813 W Commerce St, Greenville, AL 36037).
