He was predeceased by: his parents, William Leon Smith and Doris Joiner Clements; and his sister Shelby Jean Gates. He is survived by: his wife Reta Gates Smith; and his children, Charles Martin'Marty' Smith (Julianne), James Kenneth'Kenny'Smith, William Terry'Lil Terry' Smith Jr. (Charlotte) and Willie Douglas Smith. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
