He was predeceased by: his wife Martha Petty Knight; his parents, Leon Knight and Ena Knight; his siblings, L. B. Knight (Ruth) and Christine Knott (Dempsey); and his nephew David Bruce Knight.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Knight Laney of Arab, Alabama and Steve Robert Knight of Phoenix, Arizona; his grandson Andrew Laney of Atlanta, Georgia; and his sister Virginia Heard of Rainsville. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Kelly's Chapel Baptist Church (1301 Co Rd 358, Grove Oak, AL 35975).
