She was predeceased by: her parents, Elvin Nelson and Mattie Pratt Nelson; her former husband Brian Williams; her grandson Bryan Allan Garza; her great grandchild Stephen Andreu Ray; and her brother Alvin "Butch" Nelson.
She is survived by: her husband Leonard Channell; and her children, Billy Channell, Roger Channell (Joann), Frankie Channell (Amanda) and Norma Hill (Tim). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bowen Funeral Home Chapel (981 AL-253, Winfield, AL 35594). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at the Liberty Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery (6909 AL-253, Guin, AL 35563).
