He is survived by: his wife Wilma Dotson; his children, Jerry Dotson (Karen), Ronda Dotson, Angela Barton (Allen), Toni Smith (Chris) and Jeffrey Scott Dotson (Amananda); and his siblings, Carolyn June Dotson, Judy Dotson and Michael Edward Dotson. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
