He was predeceased by: his parents, L. V. Whitten and Wanda Faye Whitten; and his brother Kevin Dwight Whitten. He is survived by: his wife Gnean Whitten; his children, Paul Timothy Whitten and Jody Lynn Sanderson (Nick); his granddaughter Kylie Brooke Sanderson; and his siblings, Pamela Adair (Stanley), Karen Sutherland (Thomas), Evelyn Whitman (David), Larissa Adair (Jonathan) and Jeff Whitten (Tracy). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
