It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melvin Gravitt of Haleyville, Alabama, who passed away on May 22, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Leon Gravitt and Susie Katherine Phillips Gravitt; his daughter Jimmie Diane Aderholt; his grandchildren, Matthew Lawrence and Shebra Hosler; his siblings, Gilbert, Lillian, Loyd, Mildred, Travis, Elliott, Louise and Inez; and his wife Patricia Gail Gravitt.
He is survived by: his sons, Wendell Gravitt and Dewayne Gravitt; and his stepdaughters, Patricia Oliver, Kathy Knight and Paula Lawrence (Mike). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren; a host of family and friends.
